Lesson Learned

I was at a park today with a four year old boy, very smart kid, can tell you the original 13 colonies and their capitals when they became states. Easy to carry on an intelligent conversation with him.

He had a toy car he buried in the sand, then he couldn't find it, he asked me to help. We looked...and looked...and looked, and eventually left with no car. He is too mature to cry over such things but you could certainly see the wheels turning...he had never thought of the possibility of not being able to find it. As we were walking away he kept looking back, not saying anything, but with an amazed, curious, almost amused look on his face.
